The Empty Coke Bottle 

        One day someone was walking alone and looking around on a quiet beachfront without doing anything special.  He was a young boy who lived in a small rural fishing village. The boy always went to the beach after school to pick up the empty bottles that had been left by tourists the night before.  He exchanged the bottles for coins and candies at a small country store.  He remembers the sweet candy taste, which cannot be savored in any candy today.  Sometimes the empty bottle became a vase, a fish tank, a marble holder, or even a container to convey letters to someone.  The young boy did not know the real soda taste, but remembered the taste of salty tap water in the bottle, which was lukewarm, and the flavor of glass.  Sometimes, on rainy days the boy drew the bottle on the other side of recycled paper blurred by grid lines in order to keep from getting bored when he was left alone at home.  That was the Coke bottle he remembered.
